Ah, how I love good old Mancland. Hidden down the little streets and alleyways are some real cultural gems; the Anthony Burgess Foundation being one of them. With the help of a lovely little café, the Foundation, as well as serving to promote the life and work of Burgess himself, will act again this year as the hub for the Manchester Literature Festival. Blossoming out of what was once the Manchester Poetry Festival, the event encompasses a diverse selection of exciting literary titbits for Northerners and visitors alike and was a huge success last year. This October I am hoping to get much more involved, particularly with the Festival’s wonderful blog; hosting enthusiastic bloggers and writers and their thoughts on the intriguing performances/interviews/events that take place this year. (I sadly couldn’t make it the Zadie Smith Trailblazer…
