These maps came to be out of a practical need:
For the first one I looked on google maps for all the parking lots on top of buildings in the center of Manchester, and then I wondered how I could take this information with me. So I made the map, and then we went on a nice adventure in the city with it, enjoying a view of the city from the top of the buildings that I marked!

The second one is a report from an hypothetical walk over some abandoned railroad bridge.
The interesting thing about these maps is that they work really well, but only if you know the city. If you don’t, you’d need a second map for the general stuff maybe. I think that’s ok in this case.
