Last week Michael Palin only scratched the surface of Brazilian culture and their laid back way of life. However, last night’s episode saw the travel guru delve deep into the heart of the Amazonia and explore the culture and customs of some of Brazil’s indigenous tribes such as the Waju and Yanomami. In a world of smart phones, tablets and the need for everything to be instant, watching the indigenous tribes was a breath of fresh air, from their close nit communities to their traditional way of life and wasn’t the sloth absolutely affordable? We also loved the fact that last night’s episode was a mini geography and history lesson in one, from learning about the different rivers that flow into the Amazon, the second largest river in the world, to learning about Henry Ford’s brave but unsuccessful attempt to build a rubber plantation in the middle of the rainforest.
We wonder what Palin has in for us…
