A common victim of Hurricane Sandy’s wrath were trees. While some of our leafy friends escaped varying degrees of branch dismemberment, others were completely uprooted, taking much of the surrounding earth with it.

Redditor Nirnroot, who clearly has a creative eye, took this as a chance to take a pretty interesting self-portrait.

What really sells the illusion is his totally relaxed pose. Knowing he’s probably straining himself to maintain such a position makes it all the more impressive!
