Last week I attended a public consultation about the plans for Middlewood Locks; one of 3 large development projects happening around the Chapel St area of Salford.

It offered an insight into what the area might look like in 10 years time, but also made me realise how the project links with 2 other projects, the Ordsall Chord (a new viaduct to connect Manchester’s Victoria, Oxford Road and Piccadilly stations enabling faster, more frequent services to run across the North of England) and of course the Salford Central project which includes the regeneration of Chapel St.

The proposed plans will make significant changes to this area of Salford, much more than I had realised;
