Spent Carnaval in the state of Minas Gerais a few weeks ago.  It was our first Carnaval in Brazil and it did not disappoint, although perhaps we disappointed it. We flew into Belo Horizonte, the state capital, and cabbed it to our hotel about 45 minutes into town.  We picked a place close to the rodoviaria (bus station) so we could get an early start the next morning to get to our destination: Ouro Preto.  While waiting for our bus, we walked by the federal police offices at the bus station and noticed this wanted poster:

Meet John Lennon Fonseca Ferreira.  We only found out later that there are also two other guys running around Minas Gerais committing drug-related homicides named John Lennon.  We stayed clear of all of them, luckily.
