The alchemist has two restaurants in manchester one on New York Street near Piccadilly Gardens and the other in the Spinningfields area just off Deansgate. Situated on the main square green (where they have an outdoor cinema in the summer) the alchemist looks upmarket as you walk up to it.

Once inside you can really see the attention to detail, most impressive is the bar area itself. With ceiling high shelves a over sized clock and ladders so that the bar staff can clamber up the shelves to find god knows what. Glasses, alcohol who knows its impressive to watch.

We were there for a 21st so we were shown through the over crowded bar to a roped off area I highly recommend reserving a table in the evening time especially Fridays and Saturdays as it was crazy busy. Probably because it is so close to the business district the…
