another whirlwind visit to manchester, though this time i drove there carrying all the surplus stuff left over from the sale of the whitstable cottage.  fortunately its found a good home with my mother and brother – its funny how old people hate change – my mother still prefers to use the 30 year old duvet that feels like you have a ton of weights lying on you!  everything i buy her gets hoarded into a cupboard waiting for the old one to actually break before using……  my lovely friend maria drove with me – maria and i studied architecture together and is my cultured buddy who guides me into all the lovely exhibitions;  our first stop was the whitworth art gallery, which I had not been to since being a teenager!  it looked amazing, the new extensions and the gallery displays were tastefully hung – the richard long…
