The best thing about bank holidays? Sunday can be about more than a supermarket trip and checking there are enough clothes to wear to work the next week.
We headed over to Chapel St for Sounds from the Other City. Now in its ninth year, the festival sees bands from across the north west and beyond, playing in some of Salford’s nicest hang outs.
Picking up our wristbands from Islington Mill we caught a set by Treetop Flyers who wear their west coast influences on their sleeves. It’s not my usual cup of tea but you can get away with a few doo-wops when its five o’clock on a sunny(ish) bank holiday sunday afternoon and they’re serving marple brewery’s IPA at the bar.
Shooping our way down to The Crescent – we made it in time for the Haiku Salut set. For me, Haiku Salut can be added to the list of bands-who-sound-just-like-their-bandname. They…
