I’ve been in search of the perfect brunch spot in Rio for a while now, and this could well be it!  Sadly I had a case of “bad ordering” but I’m still giving La Bicyclette the seal of approval because the atmosphere is lovely and the rest of the menu has great potential.

The cafe is very European looking with lots of wood and a lovely outdoor terrace with canvas umbrellas and tables each with their own toaster.  The design and menu remind me a lot of Pain Quotidian, a Belgian chain of cafes not yet here in Rio.

There’s a bit of a queue on a Sunday morning but who minds waiting around outside on a sunny day, plus it gave me time to check out the menu and decide from the great choice of freshly baked options.
