This place looks unassuming at first, but as you keep walking down Jose Paulino, you are suddenly swallowed into a colourful array of shops. It’s literally mindboggling. I had to sit down and take a rest with some Acai, as I developed a headache after only one hour. This IS the place to shop. Store after store weaves on through the packed streets of Jose Paulino and Rua dos Italianos. This place is alive with clothes, fabric, textures, shoes, jewellery, anything the fashionista’s heart desires. And unlike other cities where the outlet or warehouse shops are kept strictly under wraps, this place enjoys an insane amount of human traffic. Walk in to any store to find dresses, pants, jackets, underwear, jeans, skirts, tops, in any style, cut, colour, fabric and size combination. Some stores may let you try their clothes on, others are not so lenient.
