Kino Shorts 42 and a Walk in the Park

Well this week we showed our film, ‘A Walk in the Park‘ at the Kino Shorts 42 night in Manchester.

The film went down well and I did a brief Q&A afterwards.

I have mixed feelings about this film.  On the whole I’m reasonably happy with it, the performances are good, but watching it with an audience I became aware that it wasn’t really working, cinematically.

Let me explain.

I wrote the script for ‘A Walk in the Park‘ about a year ago.  It was an idea I had, you guessed it, while walking in the park.  One of those great moments where you have an idea and it all comes together relatively quickly.  Writing the script was easy, one draft, the dialogue just flowed out of me onto the page and I just kept going until it was done.
