When it was first announced that a typhoon was coming, my initial reaction was this: F**K

I had arrived in sunny, beautiful, postcard perfect Boracay Island just a few days before the typhoon hit, and although I had anticipated to stay longer than planned, I didn’t expect that a typhoon would be the reason for extending my stay.

Aside from the beautiful White Beach, Boracay is also unofficially known as the party island of the Philippines, a place where tourists and backpackers flock to soak in the sun. I didn’t expect to absorb any culture here, but I had been warned by several travellers to prepare to get sucked in. And I was sucked in alright.
