Graduates shine at DIY exhibition

Graduates from Manchester School of Art and Salford University have joined forces to create a fantastic new exhibition at 4 Piccadilly Place in Manchester. Exhibiting for one week only, this collection of fresh artistic and curatorial talent is certainly not to miss.

Experience Needed refers to a catch-22 phrase often encountered by recent graduates. Job application after job application the youth of this generation are told that without experience, you cannot work… Yet experience cannot be gained unless given the opportunity, which is rarely granted. Today’s young graduates have been brought into the metaphorical battlefield that past generations would have called “job-seeking”, as the government continues to squeeze the resources and institutions that let young creatives thrive.

Originally conceived of by Benjamin McChrystal Plimmer with this rationale in mind, these graduates have taken matters into their own hands. Their DIY approach to exhibiting pieces of art is inspiring and admirable…
