I found this great article by my friend Anne Gordon who is married to one of the brothers of my friend Erito Barrigon. The article is about the Embera village at San Juan de Pequini. I have long supported the tourism efforts of this village and I recommend the “Authentic Embera Village Tour” offered by both Princess and Holland America that visits this village. It is unquestionably the “best” tour in Panama. When I was on ZUIDERDAM for a Canal season, visiting the Canal and stopping in Gatun Lake every 10 or 11 days, I always recommended this tour to our guests. They would come back to the ship, sometimes wet and muddy if they had gotten caught in a rain storm saying things like, “That is the best tour ever!” and “That tour changed my life!” Wow!
