I went along to Platt Fields to be part of the Holi Festival of Colour. I had a fantastic day and met some fantastic characters.  People gathered at 12.30 for the celebrations to begin at 13.00.
Holi is celebrated at the approach of vernal equinox, on the  (Full Moon).  The festival signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, end of winter, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair ruptured relationships.

There was certainly plenty of laughter, young and the not so young dancing and smearing powdered chalk on their loved ones and strangers.  I did come away rather colourful and what were black jeans were speckled with yellow, red, blue, green, purple.

I felt inspired watching these fabulous people having great fun.  I have added some photographs for you to hopefully enjoy.
