Las Fallas 2014

Something struck me recently when someone from back home (Canada) asked me, “what exactly is Las Fallas?”. I had never even thought of the possibility that someone didn’t know what it was, I mean, for the past 7 months living here in Valencia, Spain I couldn’t think of anything other than the festival! I was excited to hear “La Mascleta” every day, to see the fireworks every night and to party all day! I wanted to write a bit about what Las Fallas is, for my friends back home that might still be confused. Bare in mind, there is so much tradition and history here that I can’t even begin to touch on. I do not claim to know everything there is to know, or anything at all really about Las Fallas celebration but, I can give you my personal experience.
