It was our first time at Chorlton Market and what a wonderful surprise! The small market is packed with high quality produce and delightful sweets.
Besides our usual favourites – venison Scotch eggs and sausage rolls from the Moocher, the Buttery pies and sticky toffee pudding, and the delicious scones of Pudding&Pie Café – we have found amazing flavours ranging from British traditional dishes to exotic international cuisine.
The Uprising Bakehouse showcases a variety of savoury breads, focaccia and hot cross buns alongside Iranian sweets. The walnut and cardamom cake, a version of the Persian love cake, was light and perfectly spiced. If you ever get the chance to try it, do not waste it! Seriously, that cake is life-changing. Their borek with feta and parsley is also worth mentioning as it reminded us of Mediterranean pastries.
