Way to be in action!
Speaking of “ways”, I’ve been thinking about the eponymous book by David Deida.
He speaks of the masculine being as direct and purposeful. The feminine being as living more comfortably in the realm of feelings and placing greater priority on interpersonal connections.
In Taoism, there is an idea that societies and individuals work best when the “feminine follows the masculine”.
I take these two views to mean that, at various points throughout human history, there have been people who were able to make possible the hitherto impossible. And when their contemporaries and successors analyzed how they accomplished these great feats (e.g. the Lacedaemonian victory over a Persian force 100 times greater in size at the Battle of Thermopylae, the building of the pyramids, constructing Stonehenge, rising above the petty concerns of most people to live as a sage), these pupils of success found that a…
