A modern Japanese kitchen hidden off Oxford Road

Decor
The fact we were the only non-Asians in there is definitely a good sign, although made my struggle with the chopsticks all the more embarrassing. This small restaurant is incredibly clean and contemporary, feeling authentically Japanese thanks to wooden canteen-style benches typical of so many Japanese restaurants and animé playing silently on TV screens. The kitchen runs alongside the dining space allowing us to watch the chef in the zone, taking an exceptional amount of care over every dish he put out. A lovely personal touch.

Staff
I couldn’t speak any more highly of our waitress who made conversation, knew the menu inside out, could (and did) give recommendations on what to go for and seemed genuinely pleased by our enjoyment of the food.
