For my first official trip of the semester, my roommates and I ventured to Venice, Italy to experience Carnival. For our first time trying to travel I think things went smoother than expected. The train station in Florence is really easy to figure out and before we knew it we were in Venice taking a water taxi to our hotel. There’s no cars in Venice so you have to take a boat everywhere along the channels that run throughout. Venice (even though it was freezing cold when we were there) literally looks like it came from a postcard. The streets are lined with every designer shop you can imagine–Gucci, Prada, Moschino, Chanel, Louie Vutton– and the city is surround by blue green water full of gondolas.
