Things I’ve discovered about moving to Manchester #1

I can pay the same rent for my half of a two-bed terrace house with outdoor space in Didsbury Village in 2015 as what I did for my half of a two-bed flat in Lewisham in 2002.

I can also afford half a car, don’t need a parking permit and can park (most of the time) outside of the house.

In said owned car, I can take day-trips out to the Peak District and discover places like Castleton, Mam Tor and Bakewell, and to the similar ones in the Lake District such as Bowness Windermere.

We can pop over to visit our lovely families, and then come home. As much as I love a speedy trip aboard a Virgin Pendolino, it is brilliant to see family more frequently, than for weekends or week long trips. My mother agrees.

It does not always rain.
