Deciding on what to do my research essay on for the Symposium project was a difficult process since there are a number of interesting areas of Japanese culture, economics and politics to be discussed. I finally decided to focus on the Japanese-Brazilian return migration that began in the late 1980’s and continued with force into the 1990’s.
