Manchester City Council’s e-Petition Scheme

Manchester City Council welcomes petitions and recognises that they are just one of many ways in which people can let us know about their concerns and participate in the democratic process.

If a local person, or group of local people, have an issue they wish to resolve or make their views known, the Manchester City Council’s scheme enables petitions to be submitted, and responses/acknowledgements are guaranteed.

The petitions can be submitted by paper or online via the council’s website; within ten working days of submission, the council will send an acknowledgement to the petition organiser.

The response depends on how many people have signed the petition. The scheme states a brief description on the responses that will take place in relation to the signature threshold, as seen below.
