Slouched into a wonderful front-row couch in Little Ragtag theater I verbally exclaimed, ‘What?!’ as the credits rolled.
This is no documentary as you or I may imagine one. This is Brazilian sci-fi with real people and their real struggles throughout. Immediately, dystopian language and scenery of the actual, poor neighborhoods of suburban Brasilia arises. We meet several likable characters as they live among their memories and debilitations each different and, yet, unified against the apparent oppression by the white government. These are real issues that plague Brazil today, yet no one seemingly talks about it.
