Each bite of our prepared Moqueca ( pronounced Mo-keh-ka) is layered in some good memories. Because truly you never forget the first time you eat this wonderful stew.
We were couchsurfing in Lisbon some years ago and our wonderful host Joao introduced us to this incredible meal. He was celebrating his birthday, a couple of friends came over and we spent the whole night eating, drinking and listening to some really good brazilian vibes. And although Bahia, where Moqueca comes from, is not only one step out the door from Lisbon, Joao created this feeling of being right there with all the scents, flavours and sounds that night. The memories of this encounter always brighten our day. Thank you so much Joao!
