Today I wanted to share with you the documentary work that Mr Fabro has undertaken over the course of the last two years. A native Brazilian, who is studying at Griffith College in Dublin, Fabro has been photographing the very real tensions between the local farmers and landless workers in Brazil. The clash occurs between the landowners and the members of the Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra, or as they are better known in English… the landless workers’ movement. These collections of rural workers seek to combat the inequality and promote workers’ rights in rural areas.
Fabro set out to be impartial in the way that he photographed making sure to be open to both sides of the battle. What he set out to do though, to show the tension between these opposing groups, isn’t really what I’m seeing in the imagery and I certainly wouldn’t see it had…
