Brazilian muralist Eduardo Kobra is known for his colourful murals, sometimes several stories high, all around the world. His work often consists of colourful geometric shapes intertwined with a realistic portrait of a person. He has been known previously for several works around Sao Paulo as a social commentary, but has also contributed several murals all around the world.
Kobra has now been commissioned along with his team of five visual artists to paint a mural of Bob Dylan onto a five-story office building in downtown Minneapolis. The buildings owners commissioned the project, which will cost $50,000, to revitalise the district.
Kobra has painted other famous figures as murals in America, including Abraham Lincoln and Nelson Mandela, presented as uplifting memorials to great characters.
