So you might have noticed from our social media that we’ve got five tickets for this years Manchester Oktoberfest to give away! One lucky guy (it could be you!) and his mates will get free entry to the annual booze-fest. Great news right, but how much do you actually know about Oktoberfest? Lucky for you, we’ve put together a guide so you know what you’re in for!

• Oktoberfest started in 1810 to celebrate the marriage of Crown King Ludwig and Queen Therese of Saxe-Hildburdhausen. It became an annual party over time and they quickly replaced horse riding with beer drinking!

• The outfits worn by the ladies who serve your drinks are called dirndls but it’s ok, you aren’t required to wear traditional clothing…
