The Beetham Tower on Deansgate is one of the landmarks of Manchester. It is 169m high and the tallest building in the UK outside London. It’s one of the thinnest skyscrapers in the world; half of the building are apartments, the other half is a Hilton hotel. Many Mancunians, who live close to the building, hate it on windy days because it makes a loud unintentional humming sound:
On the top floor of the Hilton hotel, floor 23, there is the skybar called Cloud 23, which ranks among the world’s best bars. I went there last weekend in the afternoon for a coffee (because everything else is not really affordable for a student at the end of the month ;)).
