When looking for a house or afternoon out in Greater Manchester you’d be forgiven if Urmston wasn’t front of mind, but this lesser known suburb close to the Trafford Centre is on the up, with lots of first time buyers now looking for houses in the area. After exhausting house viewings in Altrincham and Sale, we only decided to look in the area after finding nothing elsewhere, but the houses are lovely, the location convenient, and dare I say, there isn’t much traffic. With loads of local restaurants to choose from, and on the train line between Liverpool, Warrington & Manchester, this suburb is starting to gain more popularity thanks to its variety of independent venues, and the artisan market hosted on the first Saturday each month. Jump on the train from Urmston station and you can be at Oxford Road or Deansgate in less than 10 minutes.
