Carnival-Time in Sainte Rose

Sunday, Jan 22 ~ Sainte Rose

We arrived in Sainte Rose just in time for Carnival. Drummers and dancers arrived by coach from all over Guadeloupe. The parade began in the early afternoon and continued so late into the evening that the final troupes of dancers wore tall head-pieces with elaborate LED-light-arrangements … which, sadly, were impossible to photograph. We stayed right to the end because there is only one road out of town and they were dancing all along it … 😃
