George Orwell is in the news, 67 years after his death in 1950; his masterpiece, 1984, has reached #1 in Amazon’s most sold books.

In the midst of Trump’s presidency, the backdrop of ongoing wars, a militaristic progression towards global tyranny, and an ever increasing acceptance of the global surveillance system; 1984, written in 1948 while Orwell was suffering from tuberculosis, stands as a testament to his prophecy for the future of our species.

Allowing for the book, after all, being a parody, something like 1984 could actually happen. This is the direction the world is going in at the present time.
