In Review: Sankeys (Ibiza)

Sankeys Ibiza really does feel like an extension of its predecessor in Manchester with the club’s sleek decor, LED lighting systems, and Mancunian clientele. It feels odd that the original closed while its off-shoot lives on, still bearing the UK, house-head flag on a Spanish island. While some may put this down to the relentless drive of property developers back in Britain, as a smoking connoisseur the superiority of the Ibizan outdoor enclosure would be enough to explain why it outlived its parent club.

Where Sankeys Manchester came equipped with security guards telling you to keep it down incase all the new neighbours in their recently developed apartments complained, the Ibiza number comes with its own bar, little raised tables and a cinema. That’s right, a cinema. I’m not sure who thought this was a good idea, but they were definitely right; there’s nothing quite like sitting in the sixteenth…
