When the story goes digital...
Once upon a time, children’s cartoons were considered a mindless form of entertainment. When I was a kid, my parents wouldn’t let me watch cartoons on the account that it would “rot your brain”. It is only reasonable that adults today would revisit the cartoons they had as children, however, cartoons coming out now for the new generation have also attracted adult attention. The biggest example of this is My Little Pony and the brony community, however, this is not the only show attracting viewers outside their target audience. Steven Universe, Adventure Time, Avatar: The Last Airbender, among others are also growing fandoms of adults sometimes far outside of their target range. These fans are often looked down upon and mocked for consuming media for children, but just how ridiculous is it that adults can get so much out of a kid’s show?
