Today London becomes the first of over 20 cities to be introducing a ‘Toxicity Charge’ for diesel cars over 11 years old. These are the same diesel cars various governments, and especially Gordon Brown’s, told buyers were less polluting and better for the environment than petrol vehicles so ‘buy, buy, buy’. Older diesel cars are disproportionately owned by poorer people who will now be stung for £21 per day for bringing their killer boxes of poison into the capital city.
