The illustrator of these three volumes was the Belgian artist Jean Dratz. Although known as a landscape artist – he is better known as a caricaturist and illustrator of Comics. These three, numbered and hand-coloured works have the feel of a cartoon or saucy seaside postcard about them.
Written by Julien Besancon, and published in a slipcase by Terres latines, they would have brought some much needed humour to 1940’s Belgium, and remain a cheerful and light hearted set today.
