Every year you see pictures online of the beautiful costumes being worn, the bands playing, people dancing in the street and the rest of the celebrations being carried out at all the carnivals taking place across the Caribbean and even at Notting Hill Carnival here in the UK. Whenever I would see the pictures I’d always wonder if carnivals were as exciting as the pictures made them look, in real life and if I would ever get to experience one.

This year whilst on holiday with my family in St. Lucia in July, I was lucky enough to experience a Caribbean carnival first hand and I wasn’t disappointed.
