So then, I was going to write this blog yesterday, but I quite forgot to photograph one of the key features of the venue – the historical tiles in the doorway.

I popped out this morning intending to just snap a pic and then head home to write this blog, yet before I knew it I was back inside sitting down and ordering some more food! But I’m getting ahead of myself, this blog post’s roots go a long way back, to a time before I knew the word “blog”, a time before smartphones, a time of dial up internet…a time known as the 90s.

When I was a small child, my granny was a regular customer at Mike and Jill’s garden centre. The shop building was a cave of treasures to me, I was only a little kiddiewink so the racks of cut flowers seemed to tower around me…
