As I’m taking a pause from the demanding voice of news, I’m running full-speed into the seductive arms of still photography.

Most of my career has been built around video: 2018 marks almost a decade since I picked up my first professional video camera.

My first shoot post-news came in the form of lovely Brazilians.

I photographed one of their Saturday night events at The Hole in the Wall.

Their energy was contagious; their joy, obvious.

Samba is one of the icons of Brazilian national identity, a way they express their cultural pride. Samba is a lively, rhythmical dance that’s been danced in Brazil since the late 16thCentury.
