Laika is an animation company in Oregon that specializes in stop motion animation. Deserting traditional 2D and CGI animation, Laika uses puppets and custom built set to create their films.

  • Coraline (2009)
  • ParaNorman (2012)
  • The Box Trolls (2014)
  • Kubo and the Two Strings (2016)

Their 5th film, Missing Link, is slated to premier in the spring of 2019.

Ever since I saw Coraline in theaters, I’ve been intrigued about what Laika has to offer. I’m usually not a fan of stop motion animation, but there’s something about the types of stories they tell or the way it’s presented that just sucks me in.
