
Bahia is a State of many contrasts and one of the main differences with the rest of the country is its unique cuisine with strong African influence.
Virtually all the typical foods of the region are made with pepper and palm oil instead of other types of oil.
The main typical food of Bahia, without any doubt, is acarajé, a type of fried cake made with beans and fried in palm oil. The preparation is not very simple, but it is very worthwhile.
Ingredients
- 1/2 kg of black-eyed-bean (“feijão fradinho” in portuguese)
- 2 liters of filtered water
