This month of October we celebrate Black History month. Black history month in the United Kingdom remembers remarkable people within the African and Caribbean community, who have done some commendable things and have contributed massively to the growth and development of our country in various ways.
This week my focus will be on a young gentleman who came to the United Kingdom in 1930s to study after winning a British Scholarship at London School of Economics. And ended up becoming an influential figure in the city of Manchester, this is none other than Arthur Lewis, who is well known as the pioneer of development economics and at Manchester University a building is named in his honor.
