I’m taking lessons…
To learn to move my feet…
My arms and hips….
Someone one said …
I was just too stiff..
Why learn clogging?
When I want to be sexy instead?
So Samba it is…
The musicians seem to open a door…
Tonight there’s a pianist…
A drummer and an agogoist…
When he hits those bells…
I feel my heart swell…
My whole body…
Seems to flow to the beat…

In the moment people describe …feeling free..Music carries us easily into that place as well. When I write poetry…it’s always with foreign music of all types in the background..It puts me in a different place..and then I write…

I find the same flow state when the musicians are making sense of what the dancers are doing whilst the dancers make sense of the music, whilst all the while we are both communicating with our audience. A great way to connect with people!
