Let’s talk about the most known brazilian music abroad. First of all, this will be an intro about it, because I’ve already mentioned that there are a lot of kinds of samba and each one deserves a single post. It’s very important not to make mistakes with other latin music, such as salsa, zouk, among others.

Samba music came from popular african songs, most from Angola, that arrived in Brazil during the 19th century in Bahia, Maranhão, Minas Gerais and other states. But only in Rio that the beats from african music got involved with other rythims and the real samba was created in the end of the same century.
