The mysterious Voynich Manuscript may contain a genuine, if yet unidentified, language. Researchers at the University of Manchester have run the 15th century text’s apparent gibberish through an algorithm which ranks the importance of words rather than trying to interpret meaning. The manuscript has been named a hoax by some groups as others have unsuccessfully tried to decipher it. But new research shows strong linguistic connections between meaningful terms that tend to cluster in sections apparently related to, for example, astronomy or biology, implying that the structure is consistent with a real language. http://bit.ly/14q7Y6g
