A short while ago severalnews agencies reported on a statue in the Manchester Museum that had started to move by itself. Apparently, the statue was turning itself around slowly (too slow to be visible) so that over the course of a few days it had rotated to face in the opposite direction to where it had been placed.
The statue is of Neb-Sanu and can be seen below. It is from Egypt, dating back to around 1800 BC.
Fascinating, but what is actually causing it to turn? Having a somewhat curious nature I decided to go to the Manchester Museum and see it for myself.
