Eccles Farmers Market

Salford city council is reviving the farmers market tradition in Eccles and we couldn’t stay away. We knew La Guagua would be there with their famous Sangria. They were also making delicious Spanish omelettes with chorizo or without, as a vegetarian option. We arrived just in time to meet them and The Brownie Owl, who was there to pick up some Spanish sauces. Next to their stand we found the people from 78 Steps – the whole foods shop part of the Biospheric Project. Suddenly, the market became a meeting place, an opportunity to catch up and casually chat about future projects whilst enjoying good food. It was nice to watch how the market turned from a simple trading space to one of its primordial purposes, that of getting in touch with the community.
