Ed Miliband pledged to lead a Britain that ‘works for working people’ as he launched the Labour party’s election manifesto in Manchester, earlier today.
The manifesto will be seen as Miliband and Labour’s chance to build public trust on economic matters.
The manifesto launch was on the set of the long-running soap Coronation Street.
Miliband said he was ready to lead ‘a better Britain.’
The first page lays out what the party calls a ‘responsibility lock’ which, according to Labour, guarantees that all policies are costed and will not require any additional borrowing.
