Today in Singapore, we met up with friends in town for the new year. Afterwards we strolled around the area for a while. Kampong Glam, which is the Malay cultural enclave, has gotten more colourful in recent years with a lot of paintings on the walls of the buildings in the area. While it is very nice to wander around in, I’m not sure it hasn’t become a little bit of a disneyland.
